How Nigerian soldiers ambushed, killed Boko Haram fighters in Damaturu – Official



The Nigerian Army has clarified what happened amid the assault on Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, by suspected Boko Haram fear mongers on Tuesday evening.


The aggressors attacked Maisandari, a suburb of the town on the eastern flank of Damaturu along the Kano-Maiduguri expressway.

In an announcement sent to PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday by the Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations, Sector 2, Operation Lafiya Dole, Njoka Irabo, he said troops raged Maisandari, in the wake of getting data on the arranged assault.

The representative said the snare by the troops prompted "the annihilation of numerous Boko Haram fear mongers".

Following sound data of arranged endeavors by Boko Haram fear mongers to assault Damaturu, troops of Sector 2, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, effectively laid a snare which prompted the eradication of numerous Boko Haram Terrorists (BHTs), that endeavored to assault Damaturu, Yobe State at about 5:15 pm, today Tuesday the ninth of April 2019.

a. 2 x Gun Trucks

b. 2x Anti Aircraft Guns

c. 1 x 60 Millimeter Mortar

d. 4 x AK 47 Rifles

e. 1x General Purpose Machine Gun

f. 1,245 Rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO).
