IPOB accuses Army of abducting Biafrans in Aba, warns against being pushed to carry arms

The Indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, has alleged that the Nigerian Army is conducting a stealth genocide war against the people of South East, with the shooting to death two people in Owerri, Imo State on Monday, and abduction of unidentified number of people in Aba, Abia State last night and this morning, including a husband and wife. England World Cup-winning goalkeeper Banks dies at age 81.

Gordon Banks, England’s goalkeeper when they won the 1966 World Cup, has died aged 81, his former club Stoke City announced on Tuesday. Banks, who played in every game of the 1966 campaign on home soil, is probably best known for a wonder save he produced to deny Brazilian great Pele in the 1970 World Cup. His family said Banks, who lost an eye in a car crash in 1972, had passed away in his sleep. It is with great sadness that we announce that Gordon passed away peacefully overnight, his family said. We are devastated to lose him but we have so many happy memories and could not have been more proud of him.

Supreme-Court strikes out APC’s appeal on Rivers primaries

The Justice Aliyu Sanusi-led Supreme Court, has, Tuesday, struck out the  appeal filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, to be allowed to field candidates in the forthcoming general election in Rivers State. The court struck out the appeal by the APC challenging the judgment of a High Court in Rivers State which barred it from conducting any primaries in the state. In the judgement, Justice Aliyu Sanusi, ruled that the preliminary objection raised by the respondents, Ibrahim Umah and 22 other aggrieved members of the APC, had substance and therefore, struck out the appeal by the APC.

Imo state: Uzodinma, Ihedioha, Ohakim, Nwosu, others to sign peace accord today

The Imo State Commissioner of Police, Dazuki Galadanchi, has invited all the governorship candidates of the various political parties in the state to sign peace accord/agreement today  ahead of the 2019 general elections. The Imo State Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Orlando Ikeokwu, disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri. The top governorship candidates expected to be at the peace accord meeting include Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress, APC; Emeka Ihedioha of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; Ikedi Ohakim, Accord Party, AP; and Uche Nwosu, Action Alliance, AA, among others. Nigerian Army: finally breaks silence on forcing over 200 officers into early retirement Ameh Comrade Godwin

The Nigerian Army has reacted to the report on the social media and some sections of the main stream media about the retirement of some officers from the service of the Nigerian Army. The army said it was true that the Nigerian Army recently advised some categories of officers to apply for voluntary retirement from service, saying the number being flaunted was far from the truth.
